Zylexis®

Zylexis® is a non-specific immunostimulant for use in animals, as an aid in the prevention (prophylaxis / metaphylaxis) and the treatment of infectious diseases, as well as those caused by stress (eg Herpesvirus Infections and Respiratory Diseases associated with overcrowding) . Zylexis® is a lyophilized culture of inactivated Parapoxvirus ovis , tobe reconstituted in sterile aqueous solution and of subcutaneous orintramuscular application . Zylexis® directs the stimulation of non-specific immune mechanisms (eg cytokine induction and lymphocyte stimulation).

Zylexis used as an aid in the prevention and treatment of infectious and / or stress -induced diseases, by stimulating the proliferation of lymphocytes in dogs, cats, horses and cattle. As well as the induction of antiviral interferons and interleukins (e.g. IL-6, IL-12, TNF-α) in lymphocytes of dogs, horses, cattle. Cattle and horses showed reduction of clinical signs of respiratory herpes virus as well as virus excretion. Cats showed a reduction of clinical signs of respiratory calici-virus-infection. A reduction of clinical signs was shown in dogs, cattle and horses in crowding  associated infectious respiratory disease and in pigs in crowding associated enteral disease ( PWDS ). Based on the in-vitro-studies, the stimulation of non-specific immune mechanisms starts quickly, within a few hours to 2 days. The duration of action is about 10 to 14 days after the last injection

- The dose for dogs and cats is 1 ml of the re-constituted product, administrated subcutaneously as a single dose irrespective of age and weight of the animal. - The dose for horses, cattle and pigs is 2 ml of the re- constituted product, administered Intramuscularly as a single dose irrespective of age and weight of the animal. Reconstitute the Lyophilisate with the solvent provided. Shake well before use. Zylexis can be applied from the first day of life.

Store at 2° - 8° C. Do not freeze. Use entire contents when first opened. Sterilized syringes and needles should be used to administer this immunomodulator.
