Xylazine 2%

Xylazine 2% is prescribed to farm animals, dogs and cats for the purpose of sedation, anesthesia and muscle relaxation during clinical examination, X-ray examinations, to immobilize restless and aggressive animals, including during transportation; as a means of premedication for surgical interventions, painful manipulations, as well as for local and general anesthesia.

Do not use in the following cases: • gastric torsion, oesophageal blockage or hernia in dogs, due to vomiting; • heart and lung disorders; • heart arrhythmias; • hypotension; • impaired kidney or liver function; • urethral obstruction; • during the final phase of gestation; • hypersensitivity to xylazine or to any of the excipients

Intramuscular: dosage dependent on the desired degree of sedation. Cattle: 0.25-1.5 mL per 100 kg. Dog: 0.25-1.5 mL per 10 kg. Cat: 0.15 ml/kg. Horses: IV: 4 ml/100 kg. IM: 10 ml/100 kg. Sheep: 0.15 ml/10 kg.

Meat: zero days. Milk: zero days.

Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Do not use after the expiry date which is stated on the label. Veterinary medicinal product as packaged for sale: Store below 25 °C. Store in the outer cardboard packaging. Do not refrigerate or freeze. After broaching the vial: After first broaching, use the product within 28 days. Store in a refrigerator (2 °C - 8 °C). Do not freeze.
